“One of the best stage adaptations of a novel you are likely to see.”The Sunday Times

“A performance of extraordinary courage.”The Daily Telegraph

Following sell-out six week run at London's Young Vic and an extensive UK tour,Annie Ryan's celebrated adaptation of Eimear McBride's award-winning novel, A Girl is a Half-formed Thing, featuring an extraordinary performance by Aoife Duffin, comes to BAC with IAC for ten performances only.

The Corn Exchange, one of Ireland's leading independent theater companies, makes its New York debut with A Girl is a Half-formed Thing, which follows, with vivid intensity and originality, the inner narrative of a girl from womb to age twenty. In a career-defining performance, Aoife Duffin (Edinburgh Stage Award for Acting Excellence) portrays a character of astonishing resilience and intelligence, determined to rise above her deprived childhood in Ireland. Rebellious and unrelenting, with biting wit and brilliant spark, McBride writes with an urgency and honesty that "transposes effortlessly to the stage, as if this is where it belongs" (The Guardian UK).
