Ards CCÉ
Ards CCÉ is a group of extremely talented Irish musicians, vocalists and champion Irish dancers from Bangor, Co Down, N Ireland. The group has held many regional, provincial and All Ireland titles and they have performed their Award Winning Show at music festivals all over Ireland, UK, France, Spain, Denmark and Italy.
They have also appeared on TV stations ‘TG4’ and ‘Irish TV’ (sky channel 191) and were recently described by Irish media as “The Best of Irish Culture”. Over the past few years the group has released 3 CDs and also been support acts for “Beoga”, “Sharon Shannon”, “Lunasa”, “Frankie Gavin & De Dannan” and “Dervish”.....5 of Ireland’s most celebrated bands. Noel Hill
Noel Hill is without peer as a concertina player. Starting in the 1970’s, the Clare man revolutionized the sound of the little hexagonal-ended squeezebox, bringing to it a repertoire and chordal accompaniment style borrowed from the uilleann piping tradition. Noel’s duet recordings with button accordionist Tony MacMahon are legendary.
Martin O’Connell
''All-Ireland Accordion Champion, Martin O’Connell, a younger Kerry native whose technique and taste on the two-row button box are impeccable''. Martin is a dynamic and energetic presence throughout the New York traditional Irish music scene having performed in concert halls, such Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center, and collaborated with Mick Moloney as part of the Celtic Appalachia concert in Symphony Space, NYC.
Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance
Niall O'Leary TCRG, ADCRG is from Dublin Ireland. A former All-Ireland and World Champion, he founded the Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance in Dublin in 1995, in the New York metropolitan area in 1996, in Florida in 2007, and Cancun, Mexico 2012. Colette Murphy
Colette Murphy lives in Brooklyn and was the recipient of the 2008 Estelle Levy Award and 2009 Tony Smith Award. Her solo exhibitions have run in New York, London, Berlin, Venice and Dublin. Her most recent exhibition Gone to Ground ran in Emerson Gallery, Berlin. Her work has been published in New American Paintings. She received her MFA from Hunter College in 2008.
Lisa O’Donnell
Lisa O'Donnell was born in Galway, Ireland. She received her BA Fine Art at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology and her MA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, London. In December 2014 she completed a three-month residency at New York Artist and Residency Foundation. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions and two solo exhibitions in Ireland, the UK and the USA. In 2014 she was long-listed for the John Moores painting prize and completed a residency at the Tyrone Gutherie Centre. O'Donnell's paintings in Trasatlantacha explore the construction of personal and collective memories and histories, contemplating the Irish diaspora in New York during the eighties and early nighties.
Martine Holmquist
Martine Holmquist has worked in the landscaping industry in New York City since 2009 and is the owner her own roof-top garden design company. Born in Germany and raised in France and Southern California to a landscape designer and a cinematographer, she has traveled through Western Europe as well as exotic places such as South Africa and Australia, always with an eye towards exploring the native flora and landscape design. She has experience working with the native plants of the Mid-Atlantic states, Southern California, and Western Europe. She enjoys community gardening, visiting the many botanical gardens in the metropolitan area and hiking around the scenic Hudson River Valley.
