Celebrate Halloween at Irish Arts Center
Saturday, November 1 | 12 pm – 3 pm
Don’t pack away the kids’ Halloween costumes! Join us for our annual Halloween event where children enjoy an Irish connection to New York City’s favorite holiday. This year, children will learn about and experience the Celtic Cailleach or “crone,” or more commonly known now as the “witch.” Real Irish crones will come out to play to lead witches-brew cooking classes, laugh workshops, storytelling, apple catching, spooky experiments, and, of course, turnip carving! With a line-up of all new crafts and activities from Irish Arts Center’s Salmon School of Knowledge program, this year's fête is more thrilling than ever.
Salmon School of Knowledge was established by Irish Arts Center in 2012 with a mission to bring traditional Irish stories, myths and culture to life through the generation of unique and interactive programming. Based on the legend of Fionn MacCumhaill, the program aims to excavate, explore, and educate, helping kids of all ages connect and discover Ireland’s magical stories and past. |
