Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Dan Trueman:
Laghdú

Saturday, April 29 | 8 PM

“A revelation.” —Donnacha Dennehy

“Everyone should hear this.”—Martin Hayes

“A seamless and unfettered soundscape … there's enough space and light here for influences as diverse as baroque to minimalism to breathe free … the work of musicians reveling in the moment: a rare find.” The Irish Times

Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh
As seen in The Gloaming, Masters in Collaboration, and This is How we Fly

Dan Trueman
As seen in Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill’s residency and Muldoon’s Picnic

The musical interaction between fiddlers Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Dan Trueman stretch and abstract the DNA of Norwegian and Irish fiddling into something new, sparse, and stunning. Their sound ranges from the near-silent to the nigh-on orchestral, at times exploding joyously from their two beautiful hybrid 10-string fiddles. Utterly unique, their collaborative album Laghdú is music of an exceptional and unusual beauty.
