MADE IN CHINA

Presented by Lucky Jack's in association with Irish Arts Center

September 25, October 1-3 | 7:30 pm

At Lucky Jack’s, 129 Orchard Street, New York, NY 10002

Ireland’s Irish-American comedian and television star Des Bishop returns to his native New York for a special encore engagement of Made in China, the hilarious story of his real-life journey to China to study Mandarin so he could perform stand-up in front of Chinese audiences. He not only succeeded in learning a notoriously tricky tongue, he landed a hosting job at a busy restaurant, started a comedy club, then found himself on a television dating show seen by over 40 million viewers. His adventures were captured by the Irish broadcaster RTÉ, which aired Breaking China—a much-discussed, six-part reality series starring Bishop—last year, and once again this year.

Irish Arts Center is proud to be part of Origin’s 1st Irish Festival 2015, New York’s annual festival of Irish theatre. The festival runs from September 1 to October 4 at venues across New York. A full list of Origin's 1st Irish events will be announced on August 1st.
